Dear Annie,

Thanks for your lovely compliments.

Good to know that...you got some dried Arugham pul'. Hmmm, but its good to use the fresh ones...they have more nutrients. I never used dried grass, so far.

As the leaves are tender(fresh) they are very thin. And as they mature and dry...it tends to get bigger.

I don't have the picture of the whole grass in wild, right now with me...but I could help you with details. It is called 'Bermuda grass' in common English...but ask and look for the wild breed (as even the lawn grass is also bermuda but they are genetically engineered ones)!! Look out for this grass in nurseries/green houses. Even in the Universities...they have them in Botany department, or the best thing is 'google images':)

Hope this helps you:)

Hello Malar,
Loved your website Today I went to temple there i asked the priest to give me some arugumpul he gave some dried ones which was on Gods idol, later when i came out to wear my shoes i saw them growing in a small pot, i just took a small twig with little roots in it.
Now my doubt is that the fresh leaves look much smaller than the dried ones.Is it right?, Do you have a photo of the real arumgam pul plant used for making drink. Please reply and help.

I live in England.

Thanks a lot.

I have been taking strong BP pills for 25 years. When I was in India, I totally eliminated pills by drinking Arugampul juice every morning. Unfortunately, I don't know where to obtain it now in the USA.

Method - Clean and beat in a juicer a big handful of fresh Arugampul with water. Filter and drink raw on empty stomach. For me, it brought down my BP by at least 10 points for the entire 5 years I was taking it. NO side effects. Now, when I go India on vacation, I try the same thing...and it still works at age 50! I stop my high-dose medication for the duration of my stay!
