This is somewhat embarrassing, isn’t it?

“ In the depths of the magical forest, secrets are whispered  among the ancient trees. “

           Once Upon A Time

I am always ready for a fairy tale. And, life with a little girl is always a fairy tale!

Here, is my magic for her 10th Birthday! Yes, Enchanted Forest Cake it is. The idea of enchanted forest cake as a birthday theme was inspired by whimsical fairy tales, storybooks and real forests from my own childhood!! :)   And, it seemed like a perfect theme to create a magical…imaginative setting to celebrate our little girl’s birthday!

Cake Idea

Where do I begin? Chocolate Cake — This cake is made of pure love! I mean…pure chocolate! Love & Chocolate is true love, right!

This is a magic cake! Magic in my opinion because of the gravity defying the enchanted forest with wild flowers, butterflies, mushrooms…fairies!

A Song Of Enchantment

A song of Enchantment

sang me there,

In a green-green wood,

by waters fair,

Just as the words came

upon to me

I sang it under the wild

wood tree.

Magic Touch

First of all, I made chocolate chips loaded chocolate cakes. Two large roundels for the tree trunk. And, tiered them together for the height.  And, the uniformity of round shape doesn’t matter here. Since it is a tree trunk, one doesn’t have to worry much! :)

The woods are lovely, dark and deep,

But I have promises to keep,

And miles to go before I sleep

And miles to go before I sleep.

- Robert Frost

I prepared chocolate barks that goes around the entire sides of the cake to make it look like a gorgeous Tree Stump! I scraped and sliced my daughter’s favorite chocolate bars for it. :)

Around the tree trunk – You get an ample of ideas to play around with your creativity. Yes. We can choose from mushroom shaped hard candies or fondant flowers…frosting ferns, leaves…what not. Chocolate door and Fence will definitely give an extra effect!

Now, don’t ask me what I did. This cake idea has been ruminating in my mind for 2-3 years for my winter Baby. I wanted something in bright green in severe snow time! :)

So…For years, I’ve been collecting all these little teeny-tiny girly-girls stuff from her toys, clothing, hair clips…etc. The Wild Flowers, Butterflies, Fairies, Leaves, Ferns, Mushrooms, Fence, Door…what not! Everything is a collection, here. So, by just choosing a simple rose-pin from her baby-time clothes …. by itself has a story to tell.

Well…that’s how I adorned all these wild flowers, butterflies…ready to go as my cake toppers! That’s the finishing touch that you see.

Anyway…back to the cake story!

On the sides – around the cake, I mean. I used, freshly pounded Oreo Cookies (without the white icing though!) and some Green Sugar Crystals as forest floor & grass kind of effect! It turned out beautiful in my opinion.

With all these fair magical additions, turned the rustic forest decor into an enchanted woodland affair, perfectly fit for a Disney addicted princess girl!

Just wanted to say…I had so much fun planning for this theme for a quite some time! Everything Green & Enchanted! With so much green, wild flowers…fairies, everything over the top is the magical potion of it! Yeah, adding delicate elements makes it more enchanted, I believe!

Don’t every princess deserve a castle, cake, stardust…fairy-magic? A little magic could take you a long way!

And, They All Lived Happily Ever After.
