Oh Sangeetha, thats nice u too like this veggie:) And am really surprised why all our Moms kept saying the same thing about this veggie and deliberately pressure cooked n threw the water out??? Maybe they should be right to some extend, I guess…

U won’t believe this is my fav too…i love this poriyal with more coconut or some cooked dal…like your Mom my Mom also used to say this veg will increase bile, this n that…
Now i too have freedom n i could make any recipes of my choice

Oh Mahi, yeah...everybody around me hates this veggie too. In one way, I get the Lion's share, hehe:)

Yes, my mother too follow the same instructions: pressure cook and discard the water, saying it produces bile or something and also she advices to add more cumin seeds powder to the preparation!

But, am an unruly fellow...just do the way, it pleases me:)

Seriously…this is my least favorite vegetable Malar! once in a blue moon, it’s available fresh in Indian stores. At that time I buy this after 1000 thoughts! LOL!

We use to pressure cook this veggie, drain it and discard the water…my Mom says it has lot of gas so we follow this method. Your version is different..should try this once.
