Recipe:
Ingredients:
- 1 large egg, beaten
- 1/2 cup milk
- salt to taste
- 1 pinch baking soda
- 1 pinch asafoetida
- 1/4 tsp cumin seeds
- 3 green chilies – finely chopped
- 3-5 shallots – finely chopped
- curry leaves few – chopped
- cilantro leaves few – chopped
- mint leaves few – chopped
- 1 pinch turmeric
- 1/4 tsp chili powder
- 4-6 Tsp – Besan powder
- 1/2 Tsp – rice flour
- Oil for shallow frying
Method: In a wide bow, bring in all the ingredients together, except oil. Mix well to heavy consistency. Now, heat up the griddle with oil in it. Once the oil is smoky enough. Fry these to crisp and brown. Never crowd the oil. Fry few at a time. And, repeat for the remaining batter. Serve steaming hot as a tea time snack. Satisfying snack on a rainy day…in my opinion.
