Vazhaipoo Poriyal:
Plantain Flower/blossom Poriyal. Kela ka Fool Subzi. Attipoo Koora.
Ingredients:
Plantain Flower 1 medium(for cleaning instructions…check out my other plantain flower recipes)
Salt
Turmeric 1 pinch
Chili powder 1/2 spoon
Curry leaves few
Asafoetida 1 pinch
Mustard 1/4 spoon
Cumin seeds 1/4 spoon
Oil few spoons.
Method:
Finely chop and leave these flower in water…until cooking! Yes to avoid discoloration!
In a wok,heat oil. Add mustard, cumin, asafoetida and curry leaves! Wait till they pop up.
Now start adding the chopped flower….fry for few minutes.
Add salt, turmeric and chili powders. Cover and cook till it is tender and without any moisture!
Enjoy with regular South Indian Meals.
