Chocolate Mug Cake – To Bake or Not To Bake?!

‘Congrats!’ I effused to my friend who recently baked a three tire cake stand.
‘You can do it too,’ obligatory punctuation followed…from her! ‘Why should I do it? Are you kidding me?? No baking stuff for me! In the end, what have I achieved? Dirty dishes? 200 pounds? Complete exhaustion? Naah!’ But, somehow I managed to sound positive and sensitive to what she had achieved.
She didn’t leave me there…‘Try a ready to bake cake mix, Malar’ besieged…she assured me!
Considering my standard of cooking and so on. As pandering as it was to my ego, I couldn’t see myself indulging in such a mindless activity for sure!
Ready Mix, huh? Me?? Yikes! Why would I ever do something like that, while I can very well try my own luck from the scratch, you idiots? I would rather not cook than to use up something that is called ‘pre-processed’. Its so demeaning! What will happen to my reputation, here!
In the end, I gave in my best shot! The microwave mug cake! The two minutes wonder. Single serving of pure bliss. My favorite chocolaty delight.
Recipe
In a glass bowl, mix 2 tsp cocoa powder,2 tsp of soft butter 1/8 cup of powdered sugar, 1/4 cup of flour, an egg, quarter tsp of baking powder…whisk through and transfer these contents to the microwave safe mug. Top it with more chocolate chips and nuts (I used crushed dark chocolate). Now, microwave it for two whole minutes on high. Voila, you are done. Decorate it with whipped cream, chocolate syrup and cherries. Enjoy.
