Ingredients:
Turnips 1/2 kg skinned and sliced
Salt
Turmeric powder 1/4 spoon
Red chili powder 1/2 spoon
Bay leaves 2
Oil 1/4 cupRoast each separately and powder them together:
Cloves 2
Cinnamon 2
Cardamom 1
Black pepper 1/2 spoon
Fennel seeds 1 spoon
Poppy seeds 1 spoon
Cumin seeds 1 spoon
Dry coconut 1/4 cup
Coriander seeds 1/2 cup
Fry in little oil and wet grind these to paste:
Onion 1 diced
Ginger 2 inch
Garlic 5 cloves
Tomato 1 diced
For Garnishing:
Crisply fry curry leaves and garnish before serving.
Method:
1. In a deep pan add oil and bay leaves.
2. Followed by turnips. Fry them for a while. Then add salt, turmeric and chili powder. Toss them well to all sides.
3. Now add the wet paste and fry them till its raw smell is gone.
4. Later add the roasted and powdered masala. Fry them till its raw smell is gone and oil separates. Never cover them in whole process.
This side dish can be served along with plain rice or mild ghee rice.

This sounds great, all of your recipes do. Though my idea of cooking involves deciding if I should go minute on the microwave or if it might take an entire minute and a half, so I doubt I could actually pull something like this off. The only thing that keeps resounding in my head is…what are you doing in Mississippi, girl?
