Kul-Kuls – Anglo Indian Christmas Cookies

Kul-Kuls – Anglo Indian Christmas Cookies

Inippu Seepu Seedai:( Chettinad special)

On the other day, I was cleaning up all the unwanted pictures from my database. I came across this old recipe in the draft, which was scheduled to be published two years ago! Though the picture looks odd, I could guarantee that the cookies were tasty.

And coming to the name ‘Kul Kuls’, one of my friend kept raving about these cookies, when we were in college! We had no clue what she was talking about, all we thought is…the name sounds very funny. Then, it should be something exciting!!! Anyhow, when she bought these cookies in a local bakery store and shared it with us…I felt that I have tasted it several times! It was nothing but ‘Inippu Seepu Seedai’ that is made frequently at my home (when I was a kid). So, whats in the name…as long as it tastes good, right!

My cookies are super fried…it should be done with minimal frying…yeah, kind of light brown. Here is the recipe…

Ingredients:

All purpose flour/Maida – 1 cup

Egg 1 large

Milk 1/2 cup

Sugar – as per taste

Cardamom powder 1/4 spoon

Ghee few teaspoons

Oil for frying.

Method:

Mix all the above mentioned ingredients together, except oil. Bring them into a smooth dough.

Prepare the cookies, as per directions – given in the pictures.

Deep fry them till crisp and lightly brown.
