Maanga Poriyal / Mango Fry

Ingredients:Wallace 3+411
Raw mango 1-2 (diced)
Onion 1 finely chopped
Tomato 1 crushed
Garlic 5 cloves, minced
Jaggery 1 cup
Salt
Chili powder 1-2 tsp
Turmeric powder 1/4 tsp
Fenugreek seeds 1/4 tsp
Chana dal 1/2 tsp
Urad dal 1/2 spoon
Mustard seeds 1/2 tsp
Cumin seeds 1/2 tsp
Curry leaves few
Asafoetida
Oil few spoons.
Method:In a pan, heat oil. Add mustard, cumin, asafoetida, fenugreek seeds and curry leaves. Let it pop and splutter well. Now add onion and garlic. Fry till fragrant. Followed by tomatoes. Fry them till it turns into pulp. Add diced mangoes to this. Fry for a minute. Add salt, turmeric, chili and jaggery to this. Add 1-2 cups of water. Cover and cook over medium heat.

When mangoes are done. Fry them for 3 minutes on high flame without cover, until it comes to saucy appearance. Serve hot. Can be taken as an evening dish. Or it can be served along with regular Tamil meals.
