Papaya Salad:
Papaya has an enzyme clled ‘Papain’ in it. Its a protein digesting enzyme….so taking papaya will be a treatment to indigestion and heartburn. This digestive enzyme increases the digestive flow and tone the stomach and diectly soothe heartburn!
So once upon a time…when I was a little kid, I hated this fruit from the core of my heart! We had papaya trees all over the yard. Our kitchen used to over-flow with these fruits. We pack these to guests, relatives, neighbours….but still one could haul….sacks and sacks! We started feeding cattle and dogs….where at one point even animals hated to have them!
Now can’t even imagine that…I hated and wasted so much! When I was studying Chennai, Delhi, Hyderabad and now in Oxford….I started buying this fruits for its nutrients(vit-A, Beta carotene…what not). They are also pricy things now!! Feel the value of money…as well as worth of this simple fruit!
Ingredients:
Papaya 1 medium
Salt
Chat masala
Chili powder
Method:
Skin the fruit, scoop away the seeds. Dice then and toss the seasonning!
Serve chilled!
