Ribbon Pakoda – Snack Time

Ribbon Pakoda – Snack Time

Collages14Before a week begins…I make at least 291+ visits to the various grocery stores to fill up my pantry (what if I miss any essential ingredients for cooking, like betel nuts??). So, basically my weekends are jam-packed with too many commitments. Besides the shopping spree; a huge pile of paperwork; the never ending lawn mowing; hectic garage cleaning; a truck load of laundries…you name it! Thanks to the combination of complete exhaustion and a terrible weather!! Well…I really hate phone calls during this time. If you had anything important to ask? Boy, pray to God…because many people have witnessed the other side of me (Jai Kali Mata). It may sound lil bit weird to some of you…that working like a maniac on weekends?! Couldn’t believe???…get married (and this is applies only to ladies).

Kushi House 33

Ingredients

  • 1 cup rice flour
  • 1/4 cup besan
  • 1 pinch asafoetida
  • 1 tsp white sesame seeds
  • 2 tsp hot oil
  • 2 tsp butter
  • salt to taste
  • 1/2 ground pepper
  • 1/2 chili powder
  • pinch of turmeric
  • oil for deep frying

Method

  1. Mix all the above mentioned ingredients together, except frying oil. Now, add about a cup of warm water and prepare a soft dough.
  2. Heat oil in a frying pan.
  3. Now, fill this up in a ribbon pakoda nozzle and press through, right above the hot oil. Fry both the sides till crisp and nice.
  4. Serve warm or at room temperature as a snack. Needless to say, its a better accompaniment for your evening tea.
