Also Known As Til Laddu. Ellu Urundai. Nuvvala Laddu. Sweet Sesame Balls.
These dainty morsels are unbelievably delicious! Not only that these are incredibly simple, they are absolutely healthy! Honestly, what was I thinking…when I deleted bunch of those old recipes(such a blog-worthy) from my blog?!
And talk about the recipe, I am not messing around this one. Just went by the original piece written down by my mother…no goofy mixing n matching stuff! And, I believe…its gonna be used over n over again in my home.
Ingredients
- 1 cup brown sesame seeds
- 1/2 cup jaggery or brown sugar
- 1 tsp ground cardamom
- 1 pinch ginger powder
- 1 Tsp ghee
Method
- Dry toast the sesame seeds, set aside.
- Melt jaggery with quarter cup of water and bring this to sticky syrup consistency. Add cardamom and ginger powder too.
- Further add sesame seeds and wait till it consolidates. Add few teaspoons of ghee to it and remove from heat.
- Smear the remaining ghee in a wide tray, bring the above made preparation on to it. Shape them up into round bite-size balls.
- Let this cool down to room temperature. Store them in an air tight container. Serve up as a midday snack.
