Time for another Birthday cake! Which means another year has successfully passed by!
The birthday girl missed and still missing her dance class; during this whole pandemic situation! The idea of Ballet themed cake is to cheer her up. Needless to say about the vibrant color - Pink! Girly girl’s only choice. I decided that I wanted to do a whole Ballerina themed party with lots and lots of pink!!
After nurturing back and forth with idea(mostly in my mind). A cute figurine of a ballerina on a colorful ruffles — was created! Yup, its pink overload! But, totally appropriate for a little girl.
Well, like many of you; I have been spending hours watching tutorials on YouTube videos – on pipping techniques! Although…most of it, felt doable initially! Something kept me off completely! So, in time with the feminine theme; I settled with simple ruffles design using basic icing!! And, I think it worked well with this cake.
Ballerina Ruffle Cake
On the darkest days, Coldest blues,
I just remind myself; that I am your Mom!
I straighten the crown…And, am all set!

What’s a party without a little sparkle? From shimmering gold to pink frills, shiny pearls, bows and feathers! This birthday party really shines! My little girl agrees! And, I hope my girly girl friends agree as well.
All that glitters is pure gold! And, today’s party is no exception! It’s a valuable moment to cherish for me! With incredible sweets and intricate icings, this is definitely one sweet affair!
The simple Ballet Ruffles Cake made the birthday girl a very happy person on the planet. Love, love, love…she loved it. And, here…I am just beaming over this Pink Ballerina Ruffle Cake.
How To Make A Ruffle Cake
Nothing fancy, I used all basic ready to use items : Cake mix, frosting, cup cake icing cans and some decorating beads. That’s it! All I did is…to mix the hot pink with white frosting to get the light pink.
Baked a decent round-chocolate cake, as per the direction (for the ruffle — Skirt effect); and couple of mini round cakes for the body! I tired up these cakes together. And, waited really long to cool them down.
Then, started to slow smooth the frosting.I tried my best for the ruffles using a specialty icing bags and special-nozzles…etc! But, I couldn’t succeed!
As the clock kept ticking…I thought, its best to use cup cake icing cans, after all! Which was much easier to pipe! Finished it with few white beads. And, topped it with her favorite Ballerina Doll. Viola.
Well, the success is not in completing what we dreamed of! Sometimes, its also in accepting what we really got!! All I am trying to say is…however, amateurish my attempts are…I follow a tradition of baking a birthday cake for my little girl! And, however crazy it looks…she adores my effort. And, yes…Our Dreams Do Come True – in a different fashion.
