Barbie Cake For My Princess
Baking is not my league. Yep, certainly not! However, somewhere deep inside me…its been ingrained, that I will bake one day for my baby. And, it looks like…I was waiting for this moment to unfurl for a really looooong loooong and so loooong time…not nine months, not since I got married…but all my life!!!
Well, finally…the quest for life has been answered. So, here, I am with my spatula and icing.
Guys, you got to bear with me…this is my very first attempt (yeah, other than plum cake). An amerteur gourmet’s sincere attempt, A barbie cake for my lil princess. The result is fairly decent and I hope they all will eat happily ever after.
The Making Of Barbie Cake
Honestly the technicallity really scared me! It looks like they have special cake pan for barbie cakes and just the torso of a doll to go in the middle! However, I didn’t get a chance to explore all about that at that time! So, I figured…this should work with atleast three different shapes of cakes! And, went ahead with my own experimentation!
I baked three diffent shapes of cake, 1. bundt cake, 2. plain round and 3. cup cake. And, tired them together and made a centre hole to insert the doll. Needless to say, I covered the doll with food wrap.
The icing part was tricky. And, I really hated to be generous…the whole time, I cursed myself looking at the amount of bad stuff going on to the cake…felt cho cho very guilty.
Hmmmm, applying icing is an art! Lemme tell ya one thing, if you are making a cake…be brave to throw in more and more icing! Overwhelmed is the key. As too little will be very disappointing!
