Beans Karaari – Yet Another Lazy Meal!

Beans Karaari – Yet Another Lazy Meal!

Beans Varuval:

According to my mother…vegetable’s goodness (vitamins and minerals) are wasted…if we dice them too fine! Holding on to that…No wonder, I cook pretty fast. Whenever I force myself to cook vegetables, my creative ideas goes for a toss! I don’t plan much….just trim the ends…stir-fry over the high…this is the basic thumb rule I follow religiously:) Sometimes, it turns out surprisingly delicious…yes, just 2 cloves of garlic has done the wonder here. Here you go…

Ingredients:

Beans 1/4 kilo – chopped rough
Garlic 5 cloves with skin crushed
Salt
Turmeric 1/4 spoon
Chili powder 1 spoon
Sugar 1 spoon
Garam masala 1 pinch – optional
Sesame oil few spoons
Mustard seeds 1/4 spoon.

Method:

Heat oil in a large wok, add mustard and garlic, wait till it sizzles a little.

Then stir-in veggies, and all the remaining ingredients. Cover and cook briefly, then remove the lid and stir-fry over high till tender and aromatic.

Serve warm with plain steamed rice or with rotis. Enjoy.

  1. Dear Malar
    How are you ?
I like this dish. Your Mom is absolutely right. This particular type of bean I chop to 2 to 3 inch size. I fry beans often, just a simple one with high turmeric and a green chili nigella seasoning. Now I am going to try your recipe , I think it will be great with the garlic , mustard seasoning and a dash of sugar , awesome !
    have a nice weekend

  2. Lazy or not, it sure sounds delicious :)
