Fried Bread Salad:
Bread Salad.
One fine day, I invented this recipe in my Hostel(back there at Hyderabad) I had leftover brown bread….so just tossed veggies and yogurts. Made like raita and enjoyed like healthy breakfast. Now I thought about it….anything made during the hostel days….was so perfect, tasty and felt good! Maybe coz the feeling of ‘you did it’! I used to keep my food simple with fewer ingredients. I had my own friends and fans…to taste my food! One small electric stove, 2 cloves of garlic…is just enought to make anything wonderful!(People…tease coz, I use garlic in most of my recipes)
Ingredients:
Brown/White bread 4-6 sliced
Purple/white onion 1 medium finely chopped
Roma tomatoes cored and chopped
Green chilies 3 finely chopped
Cilantro leaves finely chopped
Salt
Fresh yogurts 2-3 cups
Oil for frying(optional).
Method:
Healthy Method:
Trim the brown bread and roughly chop them to bite size bits. Toss all the other ingredients. Serve chilled!
Not so Healthy Method:
Trim the white bread, chop into bite sized bits.
Heat oil in a shallow pan, fry these bread pieces in batch. Leave over kitchen tissues for a while.
Now toss all the other ingredients togather. Serve chilled.
