First let me clear the air…this recipe is from my cousin Harini, who is supposed to do her thesis (Master’s) in engineering at Germany! The entire family is into this vague dibelief that she is actually cooking baking there!!?? Since, the scolding part is exclusively performed by my her Mommy (on weekly basis to her & in private session to us). Lemme go straight to the culinary part!
People often, misjudge that we girls attain our womanhood somewhere in between teenage! Actually its not! Its when we stand on our feet…enjoying the freeeeedom! Like, for example…if you ever owned a bycycle, you would better agree with me! A slow transition takes place in us…when we ditch street-food for a cupcake made at home, all by ourselves…when we shun pointed heels and go for a comfy shoes and still say its exhilirating. So, I guess Harini has reached that point, now! Welcome aboard. My hearty wishes for you to land in your dream job, love you, darling.
Regarding Recipe??
Inference
- Actually this is the first time, I am seeing the word ‘Crunchy’ in a cake recipe. That’s really new to me!!
- Am pretty mad that she only sent us cake picture and not the real cake.
- And, am very proud that ‘cooking gene’ is running in the family.

Here goes my funny cake baking Recipe
The crunchy egg-less Chocolate cake first …

1. Cream butter and sugar till light and fluffy. Add essence and blend well. 2. Sieve Maida and baking powder and gently fold it in the above mixture by adding Maida little by little. Add cup milk little by little until a dropping consistency. 3. Add cocoa powder and a little by little and mix well. 4. Grease a baking tray with butter. 5. Pour the mixture on the tray and bake in a pre-heated oven at 180°C for 15-20 minutes. Remove and cool.
The fluffy butter-less vanilla cake…
large egg 6 sugar 200g flour 150g cornstarch 50 g vanilla sugar 1 packet Baking powder 1 tsp
1. In a mixing bowl add the eggs and sugars and beat with an electric mixer until whitish creamy for 3-5 minutes. 2. Mix Flour, cornstarch and baking powder together and gently stir with the egg mixture. 3. Grease a baking tray with butter. 4. Pour the mixture on the tray and bake in a pre-heated oven at 180°C for 20-25 minutes. Remove and cool. Cut the cake into two parts making layers.
Note The two above baked cakes are completely different in texture and taste.. The chocolate cake in tiered in-between the vanilla cake layers using whipped cream and grated chocolate bars and Nutella. The top part is glaceed with thick chocolate. (I know its is too much chocolate, but I am a freaky chocolate lover )
