Malai Jamun – Odisha Special

What could be more fun, than dipping the left-over Kala Jamuns in sugary milk syrup. Well, you see…this sweet recipe is itself a sweet accident. When I had ruined the entire jamun preparation…hmmm, now am not sure, what went whacky on the other day! Anyway…the jamuns were like freaking nuts. And, since…I have toiled so much in the kitchen…trying to fix them from scratch, milk to khoya and from khoya to jamuns. Ultimately, the result wasn’t that great…so, my lil heart really sank! Later, I found a smart way to snuck them in condensed milk and consciously covered the the mess-up. Yep, I am good at faking things.
- 10-15 fried jamuns
- 1 cup half and half
- 1/4 cup sugar
- few drops of your favorite essence
- 1/4 tsp cardamom powder
Method
Reduce the milk with enough sugar and add the flavoring agents to it. Then, add the jamuns too, allow this to stand for two to four hours. Serve chilled as a dessert (as though I need to say this?!)
