To our little Mermaid,

“Be a Mermaid: Swim fast, Wear a crown, Dream BIG and  Dive deep for the Treasure you seek”.

There is nothing more beautiful, enchanting and relaxing…than the life of a mermaid! Mermaids are basically the unicorns of the ocean! Even if you’re a practical person, you cannot just discredit the mermaids for being unique and magical.

Birthdays are all about creating a sense of magic, and what can be more magical than a Mermaid themed party?! I am immersed with an idea (colors actually) of being in wonderland. Day dreaming…basically, in neon though! Well, drawing inspiration from these mystical creatures, forced me to bake a cake. A simple work of art that will appeal my little mermaid.

Mermaid Cake is a perfect way to celebrate the Unique Mermaid Princess of your life, right!

How To Make A Mermaid Cake 

Ingredients

• Colors of ocean 
• Favorite cake
• Gems candies (Scales of the mermaid)
• Brown Sugar (sand effect)
• A mermaid topper

Method 

I did not strain much! I have planned on a very simple birthday cake, this time! So, basically, I baked couple of round chocolate cakes (yeah, the usual flavor). Lol. And, tiered them together with white frosting. I additionally smeared and plastered the cake with white as base. Now, very teeny amount of ocean blue was smudged to the base cake….to signify Deep Ocean; followed by (top cake)…Aqua Green! And, remember…since the base is white, the color actually mellows and gives an ocean effect, instantly. No much pain!

Well, now you might wonder about piping…doing motifs over the cake. Its your choice…one can overdo it and make it absolutely stunning. Because OCEAN could generate tons of ideas!!! As, I decided to keep it ultra simple…I did not go any farther! I played with my tips of my fingers…to bring that tide effect. That is all. Filled the rims with brown sugar(for beach sand effect)! Topped my mermaid doll and covered her with pink frosting; followed by I studded her with Gem Candies – Scales turned out beautiful. Just the way I wanted.

Now, you can pitch in more and more ideas of sea shells, pearls…other sea animals like star fish, sea horse…etc. Have fun.
