Egg Curry / Muttai Masala

Ingredients

  • Hard boiled eggs 4-6, halved
  • 3 green chilies, sliced
  • Onion large 4,finely chopped
  • Tomato large 2, finely chopped
  • Garlic 8 cloves, crushed well
  • Salt
  • Turmeric powder 1/4 spoon
  • Chili powder 3/4 spoon
  • Curry leaves few
  • Mustard seeds 1/2 spoon
  • Cumin seeds 1/2 spoon
  • Oil 1/2 cup

Method

  1. In a pan, heat oil. Add mustard, cumin, chilies and curry leaves. Let them sputter well.
  2. Add garlic and fry till fragrant. Now, add onions and fry till its golden brown.
  3. Then, add tomatoes and fry for a while. Add salt, turmeric and chili powders. Toss boiled (and peeled) eggs to it. Fry well till all the ingredients coats on to the sides. Voila, its done.
  4. Serve up steaming hot. It tastes good with both chappati and plain rice. It can be served as a side dish for sambar and rasam rice.
