Nannari Sorbet:(Tamizhar Style)
Nannari Sarbath/Sarbeth.
Nannari-botanical name(Hemidesmus indicus)or Indian Sarsaparilla. Its an endemic species of India. Its an natural coolant. Widely used in Tamil Nadu and Kerela as a summer drink. In a tropical climate like India, its a boon to enjoy these delicacies. One of the aromatic refreshment I ever had
Ingredients: (version 1)
Nannari Seeds 1 cup soaked in 2 cups of water for 2-4 hours-then filtered.
Palm sugar 1 cup (panak karkandu in Tamil)
Mix them together and make up with cold or even plain crystal clear water.
Serve in tall glass.
Ingredients:(version 2)
Nannari extract 1 cup (syrup)
Ginger powder 1 spoon
Lemon juice 2-4 spoons
Palm Sugar/plain sugar 1 cup
Crystal clear water – cold/plain to make up.
Mix everything together and make-up to sorbet. (while using palm sugar one can filter the juice again, in case to avoid the settled sediments)
