Over the years of cooking n blogging. I have developed a strange syndrome of clicking the food that I whip, even if it of substandard level!! And, whenever I refer to something that happened in the past’…now a days, I don’t recall it through the dates nor by events…I just browse my food pictures to verify the date / to make a mental note of the incident. Weird, right?
Anyhow…I also realized that I have never published a palak paneer recipe, despite of the fact’ I make it quite often and fairly decent. So, once again I checked my old-older-oldest food pictures and discovered these above pictures from my early days of cooking. Looks like I have improved a lot in cooking from where I started!
Ingredients:
Paneer/cottage cheese 250 grams, sliced/cubed
Spinach 1 bunch
Green chilies 3
Onion 1 small
Tomato 1 small
Ginger 1 inch, minced
Garlic 3 cloves, minced
Salt
Turmeric 1 pinch
Chili powder 1/2 spoon
Coriander powder 1/2 spoon
Cumin seeds powder 1/2 spoon
Garam masala 1/4 spoon
Butter a cube or two.
Method:
In a wide wok, heat butter. Add chilies, ginger-garlic, onions and tomatoes. Fry real good. Followed by spinach. Wait till the leaves wilt.
Now, puree the above contents to smooth paste, set aside.
In a same pan, add the spinach puree and followed by powdered spices. Further add the cubed cottage cheese to it. Cover and cook over medium heat.
Once the paneer/cottage cheese is done to soft, remove from heat.
Serve to go with your roti or pulkahs.

Looks awesome Malar…Yum!
Once I ate this terrific paneer food and it was great experience. It wasn’t so spicy or oily and it was really healthier. Really easy to follow recipe here.
