Plagiarism – Updated

I have been deeply affected by the Plagiarism activity that has been going on my site for the past few years.

Plagiarist Site:

www.hot-kitchen.blogspot.com

My back ground work, revealing the link between (www.cooking4allseasons.blogspot.com and www.hot-kitchen.blogspot.com )the two sites is not an appropriate statement.

This was neither meant to be innuendo nor it was hinted at any individual. However would like to apologize if anyone’s feelings were hurt in the process.

    Hello Malar,

I can understand anybody would be affected by such Plagiarist activity. And you are one too many times a victim. On the flip side, feel happy that so many found your content good enough to be copied…:)

Everybody makes mistakes, but it takes real courage to apologize for it. You did that and its accepted.

This has been a learning experience for me, am sure for others too. So lets move forward, forgetting the unpleasant feeling this gave us all.

Being part of a community gives us an unique opportunity to reach out to people with similar interests and needs. We should try to get maximum out of it and learn from those experiences.

Lets make the best of the online time we spend. Healthy competition can be there but sly cunning thoughts should never be entertained. This applies to all including me.

There is no big or small blogger, everybody is doing the best they can.

I hope you would drop in my space to say hi sometime!

    Take care

    Regards
    Srivalli

  49. matt john says:

Plagiarism, as defined in the 1995 Random House Compact Unabridged Dictionary, is the “use or close imitation of the language and thoughts of another author and the representation of them as one’s own original work.”[1] Within academia, plagiarism by students, professors, or researchers is considered academic dishonesty or academic fraud and offenders are subject to academic censure, up to and including expulsion. In journalism, plagiarism is considered a breach of journalistic ethics, and reporters caught plagiarizing typically face disciplinary measures ranging from suspension to termination. Some individuals caught plagiarizing in academic or journalistic contexts claim that they plagiarized unintentionally, by failing to include quotations or give the appropriate citation. While plagiarism in scholarship and journalism has a centuries-old history, the development of the Internet, where articles appear as electronic text, has made the physical act of copying the work of others much easier.

Plagiarism is not copyright infringement. While both terms may apply to a particular act, they are different transgressions. Copyright infringement is a violation of the rights of a copyright holder, when material protected by copyright is used without consent. On the other hand, plagiarism is concerned with the unearned increment to the plagiarizing author’s reputation that is achieved through false claims of authorship.

I have to work from home.

    Thanks;
