During my recent vacation (to India/motherland), I had a chance for a train ride! And, out paths met! Guess what? A long-lasting friendship blossomed. :) We had similar tastes and our frequency matched…our wavelengths synchronized!! What can I say…you have heard me…mentioning — blog friend, vlog friend, face book friend….and now it is my Train Friend. :) Thank you, Sandhya for your wonderful contribution. :)

Wash, clean and deseed gooseberries. Blend all the spices and set them aside as well. Now, cook it in a pressure cooker for a whistle or so. Once they are mushy, puree it in a blend, without added any water!  Prepare a thick syrup out of lump sugar and turn in the above prepared puree. Continue cooking over low heat for at least 45 minutes. Finally add the spice blends to it and thicken it out. As a finishing touch, one can add fresh ghee to seal the jam. Viola. An authentic Indian supplement is ready.
