Have you read this Book ‘Into The Wild‘ by Jon Krakauer? Or seen this Movie ‘Into The Wild‘? Its a non-fiction tragedy story of a young man from Atlanta…Christopher McCandless.
For those of you unaware, Chris is a young man who explored the territory of North America with the barest of essentials. Unfortunately, he paid an ultimate price!
“Ultimate freedom. An extremist. An aesthetic voyager whose home is the road. Escaped from Atlanta. Thou shalt not return, ‘cause “the West is the best.” And now after two rambling years comes the final and greatest adventure, the climactic battle to kill the false being within and victoriously conclude the spiritual revolution. Ten days and nights of freight trains and hitchhiking bring him to the great white North. No longer to be poisoned by civilization he flees, and walks alone upon the land to become lost in the wild.”
― Christopher McCandless
After being exposed to his story (the tragic fate), I felt so compelled to do at least one post about him. He just affected me so much that whenever, I see an apple…his life flashes into my thoughts and makes my heart go heavy. May his soul rest in peace.
So, here I have quoted his words about ‘Apple’.
Christopher McCandless (a.k.a. Alexander SuperTramp): ”You are really good. I mean, you’re like, a hundred thousand times better than like any apple I’ve ever had. I’m not Superman, I’m Supertramp and you’re super apple. You’re so tasty, you’re so organic, so natural. You are the apple of my eye, ha!”
On August 12, 1992, McCandless wrote what are apparently his final words in his journal: “Beautiful Blueberries.“
