Chutney Podi. Idly Podi. Idly with Ellu Podi.
Madras, Murughan Idly Milagai Podi is quite famous! Although I couldnt perfect the recipe…I tried my level best!
Ingredients:
Urad dhal 1 cup
Dry red chilies 10-15 (bright red ones)
Brown sesame seeds 2 spoons
Curry leaves 4 twigs
Salt
Asafoetida 1 pinch
Method:
Dry roast each item, seperately and powder them togather!
Serve to go with your idly or dosa…run a spoon full of ghee or sesame oil!

Hai malar the idly looks very soft.I never prepre this podi.Is it ok to prepare with white sesame seeds.I will sure prepare this.

I remember in the hostel, we used to gather our breakfast idlis from the refectory and let them marinate in the idli milaga podi and nallennai until evening, and then we used to have it secretly, at night during the late-study hours, revives me so many souvenirs of our mischiefs….
This reminds me too of my early workings years when my friend used to bring idli with molgapodi. We used to finish off her dabba. This seems simple to make… will try it.

I finally got the recipe of podi.. Always wondered how it is made…My frend too used to get it in her lunch box and we all used to relish it
