Its snowing, sleeting, its flurry, hail storms, thunderstorms, hurricanes…I have seen enough. This year’s winter is kind of whacky though…it looks like a one long winter and then followed by another cold-dark winter!!! Come on, where is spring???
When the days are so blue, one way to brighten up life is to dish up something warm and spicy! Am a big fan of home made munchies! If the recipe sounds easy and calls for some wholesome stuff, then its very hard to turn it down! Oh yeah…absolutely, it makes my day perfect. So, here is a simple recipe that adds great flavor and with a touch of heat…something to munch on a cold-icy day.
Well…if it is pouring out there, just chill for a while and celebrate.
Ingredients
- 2 cups peanuts
- sea salt to taste
- 1 tsp cayenne pepper
- 1 tsp chili pepper
- pinch turmeric powder
- dash of curry powder
- 1/4 cumin seeds, crushed
- pinch of garam masala
- 2-4 garlic, cloves – crushed
- few curry leaves
- 1 Tsp vegetable oil
Method
Pre-heat the oven and set it over 350 degree Fahrenheit. Now, toss the peanuts in a wide tray and place toast them for at least 20 minutes. Flip through for uniform toasting! Then, sprinkle all the above mentioned ingredients over it, mix well and heat briefly. Maybe until all the spices and oil coats well. Serve warm as a midday snack.
