So, by now…you all know that, I get some of our native stuff from the Indian grocery stores, around, right! But, you all don’t know, how much happiness it brings to me. Boy, its been years…(years after years) I have been away from my roots. So, whenever…you see a native thinge…boom…rainbow shows up, distant bell jingles, choir sings…Maybe, I am over-reacting (you could think)…but my folks say…I started smiling again for nothing. (ooops, the original color).
Ingredients
- 1 bag thuvar lilva (fresh green lentils)
- salt taste
- 1 pinch turmeric powder (optional)
- 1″ ginger, grated
- 3 green chilies, chopped
- 1 cup, grated coconut
- few tsp oil
- 1/2 tsp mustard seeds
- 1/2 cumin seeds
- 1 pinch asafoetida
- few curry leaves
Method
In a wide wok, heat oil and add the tempering spices. Wait till they pop and splutter well. Then add ginger, chilies and curry leaves too. Followed by green lentils plus salt.
