Tilapia Fry – Southern Panfried Fish

Tilapia Fry – Southern Panfried Fish

Tilapia Fry:You see when I was in my UndeGrad I hated this fish for a genuine reason! It was such a boring practical class that I’ve to deal with it!! One good thing about Tilapia is, it grows anywhere…yes, literally in any dirty water to slightly warm warm! Amazing! Its called adaptability. Anyway…I don’t know why my crazy brother likes ‘Jilebi Meen Kuzhambu’….altogether he hates fish….but he enjoys this!? Then there has to be something. Yeah….it has just one central bone! However, here I hardly have any choice…so go for this frozen Tilapia now and then. My friend Tina told me to try simple shallow fry with some herbs today! Hmmmm, lets give a shot! Its much like Mississippi pan-fried cat-fish…..only thing is…its not cat-fish here. :)

Ingredients:

Tilapia Fillets 4-6
Bread crumbs
Salt
Dried Parsley
Dried Garlic
Dried Onion
Pepper powder – 2 turns fro a pepper mill
Milk for dipping fish(just enough to cover fish)
Egg whites for dipping fish(just enough to cover fish)
Oil for shallow frying.

Method:

Mix salt, pepper, parsely, onion, garlic and bread crumbs together…leaves them in a wide tray.

Wash and clean fillet.

Bring milk in a trough. Set it on the counter.

Bring egg whites in a trough…set them on counter.

Now heat up the oil in a pan. First roll the fish in milk and followed by egg whites. Then roll them in the spices tray. Repeat the same for all the fish.

Shallow fry them till crisp.

Enjoy as side dish with your American main course.
