Peanut Poriyal – Mangalore Style

  • 1 cup – raw peanuts
  • 1 inch ginger
  • 2 dry red chilies
  • 1/4 cup coconut
  • tempering spices
  • oil and curry leaves


  1. Soak the peanuts overnight. Then, cook till tender…with enough salt.
  2. Grind, ginger-chilies and coconut together.
  3. In a wide wok, heat oil and add the tempering spices to it. Followed by cooked peanuts. Stir-fry for few minutes.
  4. Now, top it with ground paste and fry over medium heat for few more minutes.
  5. Serve as a snack or as a side dish to your meals.
